Our Story
Welcome to My Choice Puppy – Where Purpose Meets Passion
Hello and welcome to My Choice Puppy! I’m Marlene, and my love for animals started on my family’s farm in Idaho, where I spent my childhood surrounded by nature and dogs. Years later, when my husband and I settled in Salt Lake City, we adopted a Maltipoo—and that single decision changed the course of our lives.
Our search for a healthy, happy puppy opened our eyes to a confusing and sometimes heartbreaking world. We encountered countless backyard breeders and even potential scams. The lack of trustworthy options inspired us to dream bigger: to create a place where finding a well-bred, well-loved puppy was a joyful, stress-free experience.

To meet the growing demand without turning into a kennel operation, we launched our Guardian Home Program. This allowed us to place our breeding dogs in loving, forever homes with carefully selected guardian families. These dogs are raised as cherished pets in homes full of love, children, and other animals ensuring they’re not only happy, but also passing along ideal temperaments to their puppies.
Carefully Guided Growth
We also established trusted partner homes for whelping and raising puppies, under our direct supervision and with the support of our veterinarian. This structure allowed us to expand responsibly, maintaining our high standards of care, cleanliness, and compassion. As our reputation grew, families began requesting other breeds particularly Cavapoos and Maltipoos. Listening closely, we thoughtfully expanded our program, starting with a few select litters to ensure we upheld our level of excellence in every detail.
